Our finances

How is Amnesty International UK funded?

We are politically and financially independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion.

Our governance, programmes and policies are non-partisan. They are independent of specific governments, political parties and the business sector.

To ensure our independence, we do not seek or accept money from governments or political parties for our work in documenting and campaigning against human rights abuses, only for our human rights education work. In no way do any monies received influence or affect our ability to campaign.

Where do financial contributions to Amnesty International UK come from?

Most of our funding comes from the contributions of individuals through our membership and our fundraising activities.

To safeguard our independence, all contributions are subject to guidelines laid down by the Global Assembly.

Our Supporter Promise

Without the generosity of our supporters, important human rights work could not happen. We value and respect our supporters as partners in the defence of human rights. Our Supporter Promise sets out six principles that guide our fundraising strategy and policy as well as the behaviour of our fundraisers and partners.

A message to our suppliers

Amnesty International UK (AIUK) aims to pay all suppliers within 30 days of their invoice date. Following this guidance in full helps to ensure that we can do this.

Amnesty International UK Section quarterly finance report for all our members

Four times a year we produce a quarterly finance report for the members of the UK Section. This sets out our income and expenditure for the year so far as well as our forecast for the rest of the year. These reports are available in our member documents area.

To access these reports you need to be a member and to register with the website with the same email address that is associated with your membership. You can register with the website at any time by clicking on 'Register' in the top right hand corner of this page.

If you have any problems accessing these reports please contact our Supporter Care Team who will be happy to help.
