Local groups planning pack

Welcome to the Planning Pack for 2012! This year the entire international movement is focused on three areas:

  • Control Arms: Securing the Arms Trade Treaty
  • End forced evictions
  • Human rights in the Middle East and North Africa

Alongside these global campaigns we'll keep up our work for individuals and communities at risk, and we will also step up our work to support human rights defenders so that they are free to do their vital work. In addition, we'll continue to campaign for women's human rights, corporate accountability, security with human rights, to end the death penalty and for the rights of refugees. Information will be sent to all group secretaries as well as to relevant groups campaign coordinators. Please check the website regularly for updates on all our campaigning priorities.

Key documents

We have a very busy year ahead of us. We do not want to overwhelm you with a multitude of campaigning requests on many different issues. For this reason, we have provided a broad overview of the campaigning year ahead rather than concrete activities we will be working on. We also need to be flexible and leave space so we can react to events as they happen.

For a more detailed outline of the pack, read the covering letter (PDF)

Short guides to...

In order to help the work of local groups, we have produced these short guides to the four organisational roles. Each guide outlines the role, the qualities needed for taking it on, the key tasks and tips on how to carry them out most effectively. You can download them here:

Skill Share resources

As a result of the Group Skillshare sessions we have produced some resources in addition to those above that are aimed at helping the maintainance of healthy groups.

These sessions have also helped us to develop resources on organising events and fundraising more generally which you can now download here:

Useful materials

With even more materials now available for local group campaigning, recruitment and fundraising, we have made them easier to navigate by creating three new leaflets:

We hope these sheets provide all of the information that you need. If you have any questions, please contact the activism team:
