Belfast launch of Amnesty International Report 2012

Date: Thu 24 May 2012

Join us for the Northern Ireland launch of the Amnesty International Report 2012.

The report will be launched by Northern Ireland Programme Director of Amnesty International, Patrick Corrigan, who will highlight the main themes and key issues addressed - including those related to Northern Ireland.

Commentary is provided by Dr Sylvie Langlaude of the School of Law, Queen's University Belfast.

The 400-page State of the World’s Human Rights report provides a review of developments in 155 countries, covering everything from life expectancy, to the use of the death penalty, repression of dissent, attitudes to censorship.

The report shows trends, problems and progress over the course of the year, and reflects Amnesty’s research and campaign work to combat human rights abuse around the world.

Some copies and summary versions of the report will be available. Coffee and tea will be provided.

The event is free but you must book. Please reserve a place using the contact details below.
