Amnesty Feminists are a network of activists who share news, run campaigns, and take action on Human Rights abuses globally, with a specific focus on rights restricted because of gender discrimination. The network is organised and overseen by a committee of volunteers, who mobilise the network to take mass action. Find out more about Amnesty Feminists below, and then join us using the menu of options. You can also follow our social media channels on facebook, X, Linkedin, ticktock and Instagram. |
CURRENT CAMPAIGNS
Rise with Afghan Women
Since the Taliban seized power in August 2021, Afghanistan has been in a downward spiral of human rights violations. Women and girls have been banned from attending secondary school and higher education, they are restricted from working in a majority of sectors and from travelling without a male chaperone.
Despite these oppressive restrictions, Afghan women and girls are showing remarkable resilience - supporting each other, speaking out, and fighting for their rights. Stand with us as we amplify their voices and rise in solidarity.
You can learn more at the campaign webpage here.
Wear what you want
Wear what you want is what we call all of our work focused on campaigning for the autonomy and freedom of expression of women. Over the past two years, this has encompassed our work in solidarity with Iranian women, and our campaigning against headcovering bans in France.
REVIEW OF GLOBAL WOMEN'S RIGHTS 2024
Over the last year, the network committee have produced a report examining the status of women's rights globally. The report has been compiled from a wide range of sources, including, of course, global research from Amnesty International - but also other NGOs, governmental organisations, and academics.
AF hope that the report will be a useful resource for people to learn more, get involved and take action for Human Rights around the world. As well as quantifiable fact and hard research, the report also contains opinion pieces from extraordinary women around the world who are standing up for their rights and the rights of others in some of the most dangerous and terrifying circumstances. They are, all of them, remarkable and inspiring people.
You can also order hard copies of the summary report on the "resources" link from the planning pack homepage.
