Our Rainbow Network campaigns for equality and access to rights for all people, regardless of sexuality or gender identity.

Supporting local groups and student groups with local Pride events, through resources, advice and actions is a major part of the work of the network, but we also develop and lead campaigns in the UK on LGBTQ+ rights globally.

Trans Discourse in UK Media

Over the past few years, hate crimes against trans people have skyrocketed. In the same period, hostile portrayal of trans people has dramatically increased in the UK media landscape. Home Office’s analysis suggest that the two are linked. The media has extraordinary power in setting the tone of conversations about Human Rights, and this is particularly the case when speaking about the rights of marginalised communities.

Ukraine

The hardships of Russia’s war of aggression are leading people in Ukraine to appreciate the value of human rights including personal freedoms, diversity and equality. Civil society in Ukraine is actively working to ensure marital equality for LGBTI couples. Urge the UK government to support Ukrainian society and the Ukrainian state on their way to protecting fundamental human rights.
