Prisoner of conscience Mansour Osanloo freed in Iran
We were overjoyed to hear that Tehran bus workers’ leader Mansour Osanloo was finally freed on Thursday after nearly four years in the notorious Evin jail. Mansour has been the focus of continuous campaigning by unions in Britain and other countries around the world, with frequent actions by Amnesty International and the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) to which his union belongs. Mansour has been released on a bond, so is still subject to restrictions, but at least he is with his family, and will be able to access the medical treatment he requires. However, there are still many Iranian trade unionists behind bars, and the solidarity campaigns will continue.
