Obama's 100 days in 100 words

Stealing an idea from the BBC’s Justin Webb, today I’m doing exactly 100 words on Obama’s first 100 days!

So here’s my (super-brief!) evaluation.

Good things: promising Guantánamo's termination within a year, announcing the closure of all CIA prisons and a review of detention policy while opposing torture.

Also good: publication of the “torture memos" (pictured), hints that a full-blown inquiry could take place, dropping “war on terror” language and setting a new tone.

Bad things: pre-emptively blocking any torture prosecutions, Bagram detentions, very slow progress on Guantánamo … (more bad stuff here).

OK, have your say … in 100 words (or more!)
