Welcome to the Urgent Action blog

Hello and welcome to the Urgent Action Network blog!  This blog is run by the Urgent Action team volunteers and staff  in Individuals at Risk team and we hope it will be somewhere you will come back to again and again to take action, read about the current Urgent Action cases we are working on, as well as reading about good news and other updates on cases.

We will post at least one new case each day, including a template letter that you can use to post to the authorities. You can also join our networks - join the Urgent Action Network to get cases by email, and the SMS Action Network to get actions direct to your phone.

We will also share useful information to help you send your appeal letters. If for example we hear that a fax number has stopped working, or if we know that an email address is bouncing, we'll publish it here, including any alternative contact numbers.

Our network members often share their experiences with us, and send us copies of the replies they get to their letters. We're hoping to share some of these, so even if you yourself may not receive a reply to your letters, you will be able to see that others have, and hopefully be inspired to keep on writing!

Lastly, this is as new to you as it is to us! Everyone in the team is new to blogging, and we want to make sure this is as useful and interesting for you as possible so do please leave us your comments and give us your feedback, and let us know what you would like to find here, and we'll see what we can do.
