Celebrate Amnesty 50 year anniversary with 2 events in OCt-Nov organised by WAN
Ceilidh
Wednesday 12 October, 7.00 – 10.00pm
Human Rights Action Centre, London
Celebrate Amnesty at 50 with ceilidh band Muscadin! Join us to campaign for women’s rights in Afghanistan and help fundraise for a new documentary about women and politics in Afghanistan, with this great evening of fun and frolics. There will be traditional dances from Ireland, England and Scotland, with an experienced teller, so if you don’t know the dances, don’t worry, you soon will. There are no ‘Strictly’ judges, just a good laugh and a good work out at the same time.
We will be preparing colourful kites to send our support to Afghan women and there will be an opportunity to learn about the ground-breaking work being done by Afghan women as they storm the corridors of power. Film-maker Zarghona Rassa will be on hand to talk about her work with female MPs.
Refreshments provided. Tickets £10 on the door. Book now
