May 2022 newsletter now available
We have lots of updates around our Egypt campaign and particularly around those actions for our newly-adopted individual at risk, Alaa Abdel Fattah. Such is the nature of his situation that we are likely to have urgent actions to take on his behalf outside of the timetable of our regular newsletters, so we will send these by email as they are sent to us.
There has been a lot of media attention on Alaa's case.
- His sister Mona was on the Today programme on Radio 4 on 24/05/2022 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0017khb (interview at 2:50:00)
- Also on 24/05/2022, Mona and Sanaa Seif, Alaa's other sister, spoke at a meeting at the Frontline Club, chaired by Andrew Marr and sponsored by Amnesty UK and English PEN. You can read about this meeting on the Frontline Club blog https://www.frontlineclub.com/freealaa-you-have-not-yet-been-defeated/
We also have some lovely thanks from Ibrahim Ezz El-Din, shared for all those who campaigned for his release.
