Dear Supporter of the Amnesty Central England Network
A reminder, if you haven’t responded already, that you are warmly invited to the following Network event on the subject of antiracism (this being one of the three initial Network campaign priorities). Please also share this info with your own contacts who might be interested. All welcome. Please register to attend at the link below.
Antiracism - online training session (on Zoom)
Mon 26 Feb, 7.00-8.30pm
Led by:
*Dr Alan Kessedjian - of the Central England Network (experienced facilitator on this issue)
*Jermaine Gregory - Amnesty UK Antiracism Network
Please register to attend at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYsf-GtrjkoEtELR_C16Du2fooWz5XzSamv
This event follows the Network event on antiracism in July last year, and the subsequent publication in November of Amnesty’s damning report on the government’s PREVENT strategy and its chilling and discriminatory effect on human rights (see https://www.amnesty.org.uk/prevent) This issue goes to the heart of fairness and justice in our society and it’s so important that as Amnesty activists and supporters we are up to speed on the issues, and are confident in understanding antiracist analysis and action. There will be discussion of how best to develop further actions with and through the Central England Network campaign group.
If you are a Network contact in an Amnesty Local Group could you please cascade this message to your Group’s contacts to aid with marketing the event. Many thanks.
Thanks for your support
