BRIEFING ON THE BORDER SECURITY, ASYLUM AND IMMIGRATION BILL
Amnesty has created a very clear and informative briefing on this new Bill. You can find the briefing at:
https://www.amnesty.org.uk/files/2025-02/Border%20Security%20Asylum%20and%20Immigration%20Bill.pdf
As stated in the briefing, the Bill represents the clearest statement yet of the new Government’s policy intentions towards refugees and asylum seekers and there is much to concern human rights activists. If you would like to get involved in the Central England Network’s Refugee and Asylum Seeker Campaign Group please contact the team lead, Anne McFarlane at ammcf@btinternet.com There are regular online group meetings and the group has recently delivered a ground-breaking webinar giving an opportunity for refugees and asylum seekers to tell their stories. The group is now also actively supporting the Keep Campsfield Closed Campaign (see https://keepcampsfieldclosed.uk/) along with a number of Amnesty Local Groups in the region. A further webinar is in planning on the related subject of immigration detention.
