World Day against the Death Penalty - take action
Tomorrow is World Day against the Death Penalty; for Japan’s death row prisoners it could be their last.
Hakamada Iwao is 76 years old. Every day for the past 44 years he has woken not knowing whether the hangman will come today, tomorrow, next year, or even in the next decade. Sentenced to end his life on Japan’s death row in the 1960s, Hakamada now faces a renewed daily risk of hanging. Take action on the Amnesty site by clicking the link on the bottom right of this page.
