Keeping vigil in Chippy
Nine members of Chippy Amnesty took part in our vigil to remember the Tiananmen Square crackdown and subsequent restrictions in China. This was our first vigil held in daylight and so we held symbolic candles plus blank sheets of white paper (reflecting the denial of free speech and rampant censorship in China). Passers-by chatted and took leaflets and the collection in the bucket was for the increased cost of postage. Another "successful" event!
