Amplifying Palestinian voices and experiences.
On Sunday, 2 June, 4.30 - 6.30, Diss Amnesty is hosting its second meeting where we aim to amplify Palestinian voices and experiences.
Please join us in the Taylor Road Community Room, Diss, IP22 4BD.
The room is slightly set back on the junction of Taylor Road and Gainsborough Avenue. Taylor Road is off the A1066, close to the Diss Police Station and opposite the Coop Funeralcare's Waveney Chapel. There is parking for 3 cars directly outside the room for those with mobility issues (please let me know if you need one of these, thanks). And much parking on the roadside nearby.
We'll be offering teas, coffees and nibbles from 4.15 ...
We will be viewing and discussing extracts from two recent interviews: Basma El Doukhi, a Palestinian refugee in Lebanon whose family has been living in refugee camps for 76 years since the 1948 Nakba, and Jawdat Al-Khoudary with his daughter Yasmeen who, over 40 years, created 'the most beautiful garden in Gaza'.
And we'll look at the work of Forensic Architecture who, for years, have been exposing state crimes against civilians, nature and humanity. We'll view the first part of an interview with its director, Eyal Wiezman, where he explains how their work came about, and we'll finish by looking at one or two of their report videos.
We look forward to seeing you.
