Monthly meeting, Thurs 14 May: David Martin MEP
On his return from heading the EU’s Election Observation Mission in Burundi, David Martin MEP will be speaking to us at this month's meeting in connection with the Stop Torture campaign.
David is Scotland's most senior Member of the European Parliament and the UK's longest-serving MEP. He is a full member of the Human Rights subcommittee and a substitute member of the Foreign Affairs committee.
His areas of interest include development and aid for trade, global access to medicine, human rights, institutional reform and animal welfare. He has also been a lead legislator on the ratification of the Arms Trade Treaty.
We are sure to discuss the Human RIghts Act also, which has been under attack this week.
Please join us for what is sure to be an interesting meeting. All welcome!
