Stand up for the Human Rights Act
The highlight of this year's South East Regional conference in Lewes was an inspiring speech by Stephen Bowen, Director of the British Institute of Human Rights. He called on all of us to stand together to stop the government from scrapping the Human Rights Act. The Act is important because it is about the rights that everyone has, not those that the government gifts to us. It keeps those in power in check and makes our democracy work.
