About this group
The Kent Network seeks to enable all Amnesty activists in Kent, whatever their personal circumstances, to campaign with others to promote and protect human rights throughout the world. We campaign both online and in person in local areas. Our Network Teams operate across Kent and in part of East Sussex. The Network currently has 162 individual members and is growing.
Among other things, we seek to:
- Respond quickly and countywide to AIUK requests to campaign on an issue
- Build a sustained relationship with every Kent MP, led by an AI activist who lives within that MP’s constituency
- Identify opportunities to raise AI’s profile in every constituency and gain support for AI campaigns, e.g. through participation in local events
- Build sustained contacts with like-minded local organisations throughout the county and pursue opportunities to work together with them
- Promote closer co-operation between AI Local, Youth and Student Groups and other AI activists in the county
- Attract new members through local contacts
