October 2021 newsletter
Here is your October newsletter, packed full of reports on our activities.
This past month we have been busy preparing for the big "Stop the Rights Raid" Week of Action from 10-17 October at which we will be raising awareness of the assault on our human rights that is currently taking place in the UK. Some of you may have seen our advert in the Manchester Evening News. You can read about our work in the Campaigning section. I am re-attaching the Amnesty Briefing on the Human Rights in the UK, which has been updated. Please follow the links in the newsletter and take action. We have so much to lose.
At this month's meeting on 11th October we will be welcoming back Quentin Duflos, who used to be a member of Manchester Amnesty until he moved to France to work with unaccompanied minors. He will speak to us about his work and also give an update on the situation in Calais.
Our crisis and tactical group (who will be leading November's meeting, focusing on Syria) are looking for volunteers to help spread the workload.
And finally, if you have not yet responded to our chair's survey on the format of future meetings, you can do so today, after which the survey link will expire.
