Manchester Amnesty Weekly Action and News

Please do this action and make a difference

The government has announced plans to reopen two controversial detention centres for people detained for immigration purposes: Campsfield and Haslar. This is despite recent reports highlighting the growing mental health crisis and shocking conditions in UK detention centres.

Charities including Detention Action has produced a series of briefings to inform MPs about use of immigration detention and the harm it causes, and a set of recommendations for improving the system via access to legal support, better medical care and a time limit on detention.

By clicking the link below and entering your name and address, you can email your MP about the use of detention centres, and provide them with a link where they can download the documents.
