Amnestea raises £485!
Members of our Minehead Amnesty group were joined on 29 July by friends and neighbours for a most enjoyable AmnesTea, held this year in Susan’s beautiful garden in Carhampton. The sun shone, and more than 50 people came to enjoy the chat, as well as the tea and a huge selection of home-made cakes. We were particularly pleased to be joined by a Syrian refugee family who were on holiday for a week in Minehead, courtesy of the local Refugee Support Group. There were games for the children (and the grown-ups), a raffle, a bookstall, and a 'For Sale' stall. We also invited people to sign solidarity cards to activists imprisoned in India who are part of the group known as the BK16. We are grateful to everyone who came and supported us. Thanks to their generosity, we raised £485 for Amnesty.
