Minehead Group's March/April 2024 newsletter

The main news from our group this month is about our letter signing session on 8 March, International Women's Day, in a hotel cafe in Minehead. We had a relaxing morning - signing letters, drinking coffee and chatting - better than battling with rain and wind with a stall on the high street!
The newsletter section on campaigns covers some good news (for a change) from India, together with updates on the Protect the Protest global campaign. In particular, we are concerned about recent laws passed in the UK - the Policing, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and the Public Order Act 2023 which all crack down on our rights to protest. The Rwanda Bill is also alarming - Amnesty considers it to be 'immoral, dehumanising and callous'. So there is much for us to campaign about - both here in the UK as well as around the world!
