R&T Amnesty's January 2016 Meeting
Our next meeting will be on Thursday 14th January 2016.
As usual we shall meet from 8 pm - 9.30 pm at St Mary's Church Hall, Church Street, Twickenham,TW1 3NJ..
We plan to show 'The Farm: Angola USA,' a film made by Jonathon Stack and Liz Garbus, who spent a year documenting life inside Louisiana State Penitentiary. The film focuses on six detainees and highlights ongoing human rights abuses there.
This award-winning film may be of particular interest because Louisiana State Penitentiary is the prison where Albert Woodfox, one of the people for whom we wrote cards at our last meeting, has been incarcerated for 43 years. The film also features a portrait of death row inmate, John Brown, who was executed a year before the film's release.
We hope that many of you will be able to join us for this first meeting of the New Year.
