November diary
Wednesday November 13th monthly meeting 7.30 p.m. at the Friends' Meeting House, 37 Maidenhead Road, Stratford on Avon where our special focus will be on Egypt with two important speakers:
First, "Egypt – an ongoing revolution – do human rights have a chance?” Salah Seoudy (President of University of Sussex Amnesty Society) will give an update on Morsi’s year in power and also of his first-hand experience of the sit-in on 14th August, 2013 which was brutally dispersed.
Then, Ann Marcus (Amnesty Egypt Country Coordinator) will focus on Amnesty’s 16 days of activism against Gender Violence (25th November – 10th December 2013).The evening will begin at 7.30 with refreshments and announcements (there will be no business meeting). The talk(s) and discussion will begin soon after 7.45 and run until about 9.15.

Tuesday November 26th, 10.00 a.m. to 12 noon, drop-in letter writing for individuals at risk at the Falcon Hotel, Chapel Street, Stratford on Avon. Everyone is very welcome to drop in and support Amnesty International's core work writing letters in support of individuals at risk of unjust or illegal imprisonment. We are a friendly group and you will be made most welcome, case studies and paper provided, coffee optional.
