Fifty and Formidable: an extraordinary event in Leamington Spa to celebrate 50 years of Amnesty International
To mark 50 years of Amnesty International, the Mid-Warwickshire Group is holding a large scale Parade and Public Meeting, on March 10 between 10.20 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. Fifty local people will carry a banner through the streets of Leamington to raise awareness of the work of Amnesty and in support of those around the world who are denied justice, fairness, freedom. One banner will be carried by Perico Rodrguez, who was imprisoned and repeatedly tortured for three years following the 1976 military coup in Argentina and was supported by Amnesty through an urgent-action appeal. Everyone is urged to support this march.
