Our guest speaker Cherry Bird has been AIK’s Country Coordinator for India and Nepal since 2017.  Cherry lived and worked in Nepal from 1996 to 2010, based in Kathmandu, initially managing the VSO education programme, visiting schools and volunteers all over the country and then as a freelance consultant working in health (mainly maternal health) and education for various development agencies. Towards the end of that period and after returning to the UK, Cherry did a number of short-term contracts in various states in India, working on health sector reform.

Cherry will be speaking to us about human rights violations in India, Nepal and Kashmir.

There will be updates on our group campaigns and we will speak about new urgent actions.
