Sutton High School for Girls - Letter-writing Stall - 26 June 2024

Boiling hot days seem to be mandatory for the annual outdoor Sutton High School for Girls Human Rights Fair (Suttonbury 2024). Mark and Aya from Sutton Amnesty were ideally positioned this year - partly in the shade and right next to the biscuits table. This strategic advantage no doubt helped towards the best take up that we’ve had at this event - 90 letters done and seven signed up for the mailing list!

This being the third year we’ve had a stall, we felt that it helped to now be established as ‘part of the furniture’. We also refined our introductory sales pitch and were pleased that over half of those who walked up to the stall signed a letter. Three students, having completed their first letter, asked ‘how many letters can we do?’! Overall a very successful afternoon, not least thanks to photocopying assistance from the school office when letters ran low.
