Welcome to Swindon and Marlborough Amnesty International Group.

We are a small friendly group of local people brought together by our concern for human rights around the world.

We generally meet on the second Thursday of the month at The Friends' Meeting House, Eastcott Hill, Swindon. Meetings start at 7.30pm and newcomers are always welcome.

Our activities include:

Campaigning for human rights in Burma

Campaigning for an international arms trade treaty

Letter-writing for the above campaigns and other actions

Lobbying local MPs

Running stalls at local festivals

Raising awareness of human rights issues through talks to schools and other organisations

Maintaining the profile of Amnesty's work through the local media

Fundraising to support Amnesty's work

Hosting talks and workshops about human rights issues at our monthly meetings: Recent topics have included the plight of ethnic groups in Burma, domestic violence, the unfolding situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
