Human Rights in Saudi Arabia Public Meeting
Human Rights in Saudi Arabia
Speaker: Paul Dawson, Amnesty’s Saudi Arabia co-ordinator
Wednesday 18 May, 8-9.30pm, Reason coffee shop, Unit 3 Faircross House 116 The Parade High Street Watford, WD17 1BD
Saudi Arabia has one of the worst human rights records in the world. Torture, public execution, discrimination, intolerance for free speech, possible war crimes in Yemen. Dozens of activists remain behind bars, simply for exercising their right to freedom of expression and assembly.
The country has hit the headlines for its imprisonment and public lashing of blogger Raif Badawi, its status as a major customer of UK arms companies, and its treatment of women.
