Words for the Silenced
We would like to invite everyone to "Words for Silenced", an evening dedicated to poetry and human rights.
We have done a similar event five years ago. This time the event will be co-organised by Exiled Writers Ink, Amnesty Westminster Bayswater and Amnesty Mayfair Soho in collaboration with the Regent's University Liberal Studies Department. The event will take place on Monday 11 March 2024, 6.30 pm - 8.30 pm at the Knapp Gallery, Regent's University, Inner Circle Regent's Park, London NW1 4NS. The nearest tube station is Baker Street. The entrance to the event will be free.
The event will focus on prisoners of conscience in five countries:
- United Arab Emirates: Ahmed Mansoor
- India: Varavara Rao
- Iran: Golrokh Iraee Ebrahimi and Mahvash Sabet
- Egypt: Galal El-Behairy and Alaa Abd El-Fattah
- Turkey: İlhan Sami Çomak
We are delighted that we have a number of guest speakers, including the journalist Bill Law and human rights activists Drewery Dyke, Richard Ratcliffe and Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe, Caroline Stockford, PEN Norway.
Please come and show your support with those who are in prison for their words. You can find all details on the attached pdf file.
