February 2025 Update
In our February meeting we welcomed back Lily Robinson-Hall, who has a specific interest in the Death Penalty as its an area she works in.
For our topic for the Regional Network meeting at the beginning of April (probably in Sussex) we discussed the possibility of inviting Family Court Crisis to the event and possibly having the Hong Kong topic (this is an active campaign for AI).
Nataly confirmed that there is now a large number of families affected by the Family Law crisis which is gaining momentum. She advised of an event to be held on the 23 March in Horsell. If you are interested in attending, please contact Nataly on nataly_anderson@yahoo.co.uk
Lynda confirmed that we have a healthy balance in our AI Woking account. She also outlined a successful W4R event where she gave a talk on the works of Amnesty International – thank you Lynda!
Steph confirmed that the cost of sending the letters from the W4R event at Pasha’s came to £53. We agreed that we need to group together all the letters into a single batch to avoid paying double for sending the letters multiple times. Jen suggested using Pasha’s for another AI event in July given how supportive they are of AI work. Steph to organise getting cards for signing.
Steph shared the Runnymede Quiz which is being held on the 22 February at Egham Literary Institute, 51 High Street, Egham, TW20 9EW at 7:30pm. A few members expressed interest in going.
Jen has contacted Asda about the possibility of using having a W4R stall on 6 December. Keith to contact Lightbox about W4R stall for the 13 December. We will be having the Street Collection outside Goldsworth Park on 20 September.
Next meeting is 3 March.
