September 2024 Meeting Update

We did successfully meet online and here are the updates:

Street Collection on 21st September is going ahead. The time slots have been filled which is great (thank you!) and we have most of what's needed. If we are lucky we will have a card reader to facilitate online donations and Monica has organised tabards so we will have more visibility than last year which will be good. Looking forward to raising visibility and some funds.  

Nataly provided an update on her case (relating to child abduction) which unfortunately has been slow progress. although she is now hooking up with other legal professionals as well to gain their advice.  I also took an action to set up a meeting with Arianna and Nataly to understand if there any legal areas we can pursue in Amnesty..

China/SEA events.  

• Haywards Heath China event - Tuesday, 1 October.  Details to be sent.
• Woking - Hong Kong Event. Asking Paul to confirm a date. Lynda has agreed to contact the China/Hong Kong group at Trinity Church about our group and upcoming China events.  It'd be good to be more connected with them.

Monica is producing a history of the group document which hopefully can be used to update our Website (Adam to provide support).

Next meeting on Monday, 7th October will be a mixture of face to face and online and will cover primarily the Hong Kong speaker event, plus we will need to review results of the Collection and also Arianna will join us for that event.  

Monday, 4 November will be covering Pakistan, as well as preparation for Write 4 Rights activities.

Monday, 2 December will be our meeting's Write 4 Rights session.

Saturday, 7 December will be our Write 4 Rights signing stall.
