November Newsletter now available
As you know, our annual letter-writing campaign launched on 1 November. As always, your letters and cards will have a huge impact on the lives of this year’s cases. For some people, speaking out for freedom, justice and equality means putting themselves at risk – of humiliation, imprisonment, violence, even death. That’s why we run Write For Rights. Every year, we ask people like you all over the world to send messages of hope and support to people under threat. In the attached newsletter, you will see a series of actions you can take to support individuals and groups across the world.
Also highlighted in the newsletter are the events taking place around the 70th anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights: a photo opportunity to remember our Amnesty plaque in Bognor, writing cards to pin on our Christmas tree in Chichester, and finally a celebration cake on Human Rights Day itself, 10 December.
If you are able to join us, we look forward to welcoming you. If you are not, may I take this opportunity to wish you the very best for the forthcoming festive season, fast creeping up on us, and I will be in touch again in the New Year, with the first Newsletter of 2019.
