Brother of imprisoned Al Jazeera journalist Peter Greste to attend Amnesty Media Awards - 11 November
On Tuesday 11 November, Andrew Greste, the brother of Peter – one of the three Al Jazeera journalists imprisoned in Egypt – will attend Amnesty International’s prestigious annual Media Awards at the BFI on the Southbank in central London.
Flying in from Cairo where he will visit his brother, Andrew will speak at the Awards ceremony about the situation facing his brother and the two other imprisoned Al Jazeera journalists, Baher Mohamed and Mohamed Fahmy.
During Amnesty’s ceremony, where ten awards will be made to UK journalists for excellence in human rights reporting, Amnesty will recognise the plight of the imprisoned Al Jazeera Three.
Amnesty considers all three imprisoned journalists prisoners of conscience and is calling for their immediate and unconditional release.
Andrew Greste is available for interview at the ceremony.
