The Amnesty International Report 2012, will be released on Thursday 24 May at 00:01
The 400-page State of the World’s Human Rights report provides a review of developments in 155 countries, covering everything from life expectancy, to the use of the death penalty, repression of dissent and attitudes to censorship.
The report shows trends, problems and progress over the course of the year, and reflects Amnesty’s research and campaign work to combat human rights abuse around the world.
The report will be launched by Salil Shetty, Secretary General of Amnesty International, who will highlight the main themes and key issues addressed.
The report will be launched at a press conference at the headquarters of Amnesty’s International Secretariat in Farringdon, on Wednesday 23 May. Global and regional experts will be available for interview, as will a variety of people whose stories illustrate key human rights issues documented over the year.
