UK: Special Amnesty screening of the hard-hitting new film on Israel/Palestinian conflict, 'Private'
After the screening there will be a special panel event comprising:
Mohammad Bakri, distinguished Palestinian actor and director who plays the film's lead character
Ahmad Samih Khalidi, Palestinian writer and former negotiator and a senior associate member of St Antony’s College, Oxford
Abdel-Bari Atwan, editor of the London-based al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper
Donatella Rovera, Amnesty International researcher on Israel and the Occupied Territories
The feature film, which will be on general release from 13 May, tells the tense story of a Palestinian family whose house is indefinitely occupied by Israeli soldiers.
The film shows a situation of dispossession and occupation similar to that experienced by a number of Palestinian families.
Amnesty International has been campaigning to protect families from having their homes taken over or destroyed by Israeli soldiers in the Occupied Territories.
Amnesty International will have a presence at the Curzon Soho cinema for a month.
