Uma's Kill Bill trainers go on eBay for Amnesty
As well as the famous size-9 yellow leather trainers, which come with a script signed by the film’s cast, Amnesty is also auctioning:
- Coldplay’s signed, triple-platinum disc A Rush of Blood to the Head
- a jacket donated by designer Alexander McQueen
- a football strip signed by the Arsenal team
- a football signed by Arsenal’s Patrick Vieira
The organisation is holding the 10-day auction to help fund its new Human Rights Action Centre.
Amnesty International UK Director Kate Allen said:
"The auction gives people a chance to own a piece of classic film memorabilia, and also to know that their money is helping to protect human rights.
"Our new Human Rights Action Centre is set to be a major centre of human rights campaigning. People who bid for these items on eBay are helping to make that happen."
The Human Rights Action Centre in New Inn Yard, Shoreditch, London EC2 will open with a programme of activities in Spring/Summer 2005, giving human rights a prominent home for the first time and providing facilities to develop campaigns and support activists across the country.
