Urgent Action: Chinese village leader detained ahead of assembly

Lin Zuluan, 72, a village chief in Wukan village in Guangdong province, has been detained right before a planned village assembly and protest related to illegal land grabs. He is at risk of torture and other ill-treatment and unfair trial.

Urgent Action update: Ten Yemeni journalists forcibly disappeared

Ten Yemeni journalists have been forcibly disappeared since 23 May after they were moved from al-Habra pre-trial detention facility in Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, to an unknown location. They have been arbitrarily detained since 9 June 2015.

Urgent Action good news: Zainab Al-Khawaja released, left Bahrain

Zainab al-Khawaja and her son were released from prison in Bahrain on humanitarian grounds on 31 May. She left Bahrain for Denmark on 7 June after receiving information that she could face new charges if she remained in Bahrain.
