What is the Women’s Football Leadership Programme?
The Women's Football Leadership Programme is a six-month course that supports women from refugee backgrounds nurture their talents and skills to become the leaders we need. As part of our Football Welcomes programme we're harnessing the power of sport to empower women and bring communities together.
What does the Women’s Football Leadership Programme look like?
The programme is in partnership with The FA and provides individual mentorship and group sessions. The programme is mainly online, but we will also have two in person events to bring everyone together.
The WFLP is a 6-month course that focuses on developing the leadership skills of refugee and asylum-seeking women to become future leaders within both the football space and within their communities.
As well as highlighting the importance of campaigning for their rights and empowering others.
There will be special guest speakers and an exciting graduation event to round up the six-month programme.
What are the requirements to join the programme?
We are looking for:
- Women
- Aged 18+
- From a refugee background
- With a good level of English
What other important things should I know about?
- Sessions tailored to you and around your schedule.
- Kids? No problem!
- Open to all ages above 18, no limit
- Needs analysis.
- Baseline and endline survey
- Online – in person meet as well.
