Saffron Summerfield, singer and song-writer, once again performed for Amnesty at a supper concert on Thursday 21 May.
Our annual fund-raising quiz for Amnesty International, held on 20 March at the Minehead Social Club, was as enjoyable as ever and expertly organised for us by the Humber family.
What a lovely morning we had even though it was cold! We invited the public to sign letters in connection with the My Body My Rights campaign.
Our tree at the Minehead Christmas Tree Festival at the beginning of December was much admired. The theme of the festival this year was 'music'.
This year we held two public events for the Write for Rights campaign. We held a very successfult letter writing afternoon on Tuesday 18 November at the Quaker Meeting House, in Minehead.
The Minehead Group held a very successful AmnesTEA on the afternoon of 26 August in Susan's garden in Carhampton.
We had a successful afternoon at the Roadwater village fete on 26 July. It was a glorious summer's day and our stall, festooned with balloons and bunting, attracted lots of vistors.
On 26 June we held our third letter writing afternoon – this time back at the Quaker Meeting House in MInehead.
On Thursday 26 June, which is the UN International Day in Support of the Victimes of Torture, Amnesty International held a global day of action as part of its new global campaign StopTorture.
Our April meeting started with a presentation by, and discussion with, Andy Hackman , who is Head of Community Organising, Events, Human Rights Education and Artist Relations, at AI
