Messaging Guide: How to talk about the Prevent Duty
The Prevent duty is broken. It disproportionately targets people of Muslim or of Asian descent and has a harmful impact on people’s lives.
Talking to people about the Prevent duty and getting them to care is one step towards getting the government to scrap it and address the harms it has caused.
We have been working with New Economy Organisers Network (NEON) to create a messaging guide, so that everyone can feel empowered to talk about the duty in an informed and accessible way.
We hope this messaging guide provides meaningful support to organisations and groups engaging with the general public or supporting impacted communities.
