Urgent Action update: Torture allegations in Qatar ignored, sentence upheld

Ronaldo Lopez Ulep’s 15 years’ imprisonment sentence was upheld by the Court of Cassation in Qatar on 2 May. His allegations of torture have not yet been investigated.

Urgent Action update: Russian blogger imprisoned after appeal rejected

On 20 April political activist and blogger Darya Poliudova arrived in the open prison colony in Novorossiisk, Krasnodar Krai, where she will be serving her sentence after her appeal was rejected on 30 March.

A teenage boy with albinism from Malawi who went missing on 24 April has been found dead in Mozambique with his hands and feet chopped off. Thousands of people with albinism live in constant fear of being abducted or killed in Malawi, where their body parts are being sold for use in ritual purposes.
